Parents, teachers, and upper secondary students sing under the direction of the choir director Ulrich Paetzhold. Since its start in 2014, the choir attracts many other great singers.

Ulrich Paetzholdt previously worked as a director at famous operas such as the Semper Opera in Dresden and the Deutsche Oper in Berlin. Since he some time ago decided to focus on working with eager amateurs – children and adults – he is the director of the Chorvereinigung Spandau and conducted concerts at The Berlin Philharmonie and Konzertsaal der University of Arts Berlin. He teaches at two schools, the Evangelische Schule in Pankow and Frohnau.

On the program are musical works from different centuries and in different languages, such as works by Henry Purcell, John Dowland, and Gershwin, but also world premieres of new classic pieces. Chansons dating back to the 1600 century are in the repertory. There are regular presentations at school events like the Festival of Nations, but also outside school. The last big concert together with the saxophone ensemble Saxonoras took place in April 2016. Works by Henry Purcell and Claude Le Jeune were presented. The highlight was the double choir requiem by Francesco Cavalli.

Concerts in the Gedächtniskicrche Berlin and in the German Foreign Office, 2014

Upcoming big concerts in cooperation with the Cracow Singers are planned for fall 2017 in Berlin and Cracow.

The choir still needs strong basses, tenors, and sopranos. We are open for everyone who likes to sing and wants to present themselves to the choir director. Rehearsals take place every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Aula of the Secondary School, Pfalzburger Straße 30, or at the Foyer of the Primary School, Pfalzburger Strasse 23.
